Prayer

Oh Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the winds, and whose breath gives life to me and all my relatives - HEAR ME!  I am small and weak and I need your strength and wisdom.

Let me walk in beauty, and make my eyes ever behold the array of colors you have created in the sunset.  Make my hands respect the things you have made and make my ears sharp to hear your voice.

Make me wise, so that I may understand the things you have taught my people.  Let me learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf, rock & tree. 
I seek your strength.

I ask not to be greater than my relatives, but have strength to understand the things that cause me to become the greatest enemy to myself. Help me to elimate those negative feelings towards myself - so I can love who I am - who you have created for your special purpose.

Make me always ready to come to you with clean hands and straight eyes.  So when life fades as the sun fades into Grandfather Sky, let my spirit go to you without shame.
