Teaching Purpose: 
Promote & Preserve Native Culture through Educational Events.




A ho Kola Waste lo! Hello my good friend (In Lakota) Osio (In Cherokee),

Thank you so much for your interest in my programs.  I teach interesting subject matter that
promotes a positive experience.  It is my pleasure to offer you, a program that I know everyone 
will enjoy and most importantly, remember.

Native American Demonstration - Program #1

1)    Intro: A ho kola Wastelo: Hello friends! I will teach the audience a few words in my 
      native language: Lakota, Cherokee, Montagnais (Algonquin) 
      (Large billboard with words to be seen provided)

2)    About me: I will discuss with the audience who I am, my roots, 
      my clothing, my purpose, and my role in preserving the earth through recycling.

      (FUN interaction hand-outs provided)

3)    Exciting event: I will teach the audience how to set-up an authentic Native American Tipi 
      (pronounced: tee-pee), which I hand-made.

      (Hand-outs provided, audience may interact if permitted - older children)

4)    I will discuss with the audience the background of the tipi and its practical uses to Native 
      People and their survival. (Flute Music will be playing in the background)

5)    I will discuss the importance of Native American Women's roles in the Lakota/Plains Culture.
      I will give a brief description of Woodland versus Plains roles.

6)    An explanation of the vocabulary used will be discussed. Questions will be asked and answered 
      after each section.

7)    Storytelling: (2) Story of Jumping Mouse, & White Buffalo Calf Woman 
      (Stories pertain to respect and mannerisms)

8)    Sources will be provided to parents/audience if needed - as to the purchase of books, 
      native supplies for crafts, tipi supplies & my business card will be provided for any questions 
      that will remain after program completion.

9)    The event will be outdoors, unless it rains and then I will demonstrate indoors. 
      (If possible, please call me to let me know if your ceiling at the event's location is at 
      least 25 feet high. The poles are at least 20 feet high.)

10)  I will teach the Native American Round Dance/Friendship Dance & demonstrate
     how the native (men - possible) & women traditionally danced in traditional clothing.
     I might have a male friend who could demonstrate the traditional male dances.

****ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS****

All documents will be faxed and/or mailed.   Originals must be signed before start of programs.  
This includes the release that will be sent for review at your request.

(Payment is due upon completion of program, unless other arrangements are made)

The time we are required to attend will be discussed prior to the program.

I look forward to speaking with you in more detail about the event.

COST - PLEASE NOTE:

The amount for the events WILL BE DISCUSSED AND AGREED UPON PRIOR TO EACH 
PROGRAM. This amount is what was agreed upon via telephone prior to the demonstration.
